Luxury seafront complexes with 24/7 security and a beach club can be €600–€1,200+ per month. Can I let my apartment in Mijas, and what is the yield?

Yes. Mijas has an excellent rental profile, especially in La Cala de Mijas, Calahonda and Riviera del Sol. Holiday letting of a good apartment typically yields 4.5–7.5% gross per year; long-term letting to expats 3.5–5%. For short-term holiday letting you need a mandatory RTA licence (Registro de Turismo de Andalucía) and often approval from the comunidad, and more and more urbanisations are becoming restrictive.
